Hoylandswaine crash: Man dies after scooter hit by ambulance responding to 999 call
A man has died after the scooter he was riding was hit by an ambulance responding to a 999 call.
The crash happened on the A628 Barnsley Road in Holylandswaine, at the junction with the offshoot Barnsley Road, at about 10.25pm on Friday, July 28.
South Yorkshire Police said the scooter rider, who was in his 30s, was taken to hospital but later died.
Officers are now appealing for anyone with information to come forward, quoting incident number 1232 of 28 July 2023.
