If Lord Harris emails you today, delete it now

INTERNET users across Yorkshire have been warned about a new email scam that could leave its victims open to identity theft and financial loss.

Citizens Advice are advising people to delete any email which purport to have been sent from uk.govdepartment_refund98@outlook.com with the subject ‘ALL Competition and Consumer Commission.’

The emails often include a bogus quote from Lord Harris, the chairman of National Trading Standards.

No government agency or department in the UK will ever contact members of the public by email offering compensation or ask for personal information in this way.
