Leeds murder: Police name two suspects

Detectives investigating a murder in Leeds today released names of two men they want to speak to.

Sidney Cox, 57, died the day after being seriously injured in a violent attack at an address in Middleton Lane on Saturday, August 24.

Tiday officers appealed for information to help them trace Michael Vallance Dear, 38, and Karl Gaskin, 40, in connection with the murder.

Michael Dear is described as white, about 5ft 9ins tall, of heavy build and with sandy coloured hair.

Karl Gaskin is described as white, about 5ft 11ins tall, of medium build and with dark brown hair.

A police spokesman said: “Anyone who sees either man should not approach them and contact the police immediately on 999.”

The men are believed to have links across the Yorkshire and Humber region and West Yorkshire Police is liaising with neighbouring forces.
