Man seriously injured in machete attack

A man suffered a serious head injury when he was assaulted by a machete-wielding attacker at a Huddersfield car wash.

Detectives are appealing for information after the 32-year-old man was attacked by a man with a machete at the Spa Car Wash on Manchester Road in Thornton Lodge on Sunday.

Police were called at around 2.40pm when the victim attended Huddersfield Royal Infirmary. He remains in hospital in a stable condition, with injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening.

Detective Constable Paul Morrision of Kirklees CID said; "I would appeal to anyone who was in and around the area on Sunday afternoon who may have witnessed the incident, or who may have any information to come forward. Enquiries are ongoing."
