Murder investigation launched after man attacked in West Yorkshire Street

Detectives have launched a murder enquiry after a man died following a serious assault in Bradford.

Police believe the man, a 38-year-old from Bradford, was attacked in Vivien Road, to the west of the city, in the early hours of Saturday, May 9.

Officers were called by the ambulance service at 1.52am after they had taken a man to hospital with serious head injuries.

He later died in hospital.

The Homicide and Major Enquiry Team (HMET) are appealing for witnesses to the incident

Two men aged 21 and 22 were arrested in connection with the incident early on Saturday morning.

West Yorkshire Police's Detective Chief Inspector Fiona Gaffney said: “We have launched a murder enquiry in relation to this incident and specially trained officers are supporting the victim’s family.

“We are holding two men under arrest and I want to thank members of the public who have approached us with information so far as we continue investigate this very serious incident.”
