New arrests over Leeds woodland murder

TWO more people were arrested today as part of an ongoing investigation into the murder of a man who was shot dead in woodland in Leeds in March.

A 21-year-old man and a 22-year-old woman were arrested in Leeds this morning by officers from West Yorkshire Police protective services in connection with the murder of Craig Pierre.

Mr Pierre, 31, from Gipton, was found dead in Gledhow Valley Woods in Chapel Allerton on March 11.

Anthony Pyke, 32, was jailed for life in September after being found guilty of murder and kidnap.

Two other men were jailed for burglary in connection with the incident.

The man arrested today was being questioned on suspicion of murder and supplying class A drugs. The woman was arrested on suspicion of false imprisonment, possession of a firearm and possession of class A drugs.
