Pedestrian suffers serious injuries after car crash

A pedestrian suffered serious injuries after being involved in a collision with a car in York.

The crash happened at noon today (Tuesday) when a black Nissan collided with a man in Blossom Street.

Police said the driver failed to stop following the collision.

A spokesperson said: "The man suffered serious, but not believed to be life threatening, injuries and was taken to hospital by road ambulance."

Blossom Street and Nunnery Lane remain closed while police are investigating the scene.
