Police officer rescues drunk young female from pond in York who refuses to thank him

A police officer rescued a drunk young woman from a large pond in North Yorkshire but was not thanked for his actions by her.

The police officer witnessed the woman run and jump into the ponds near The Pastures in York, in the early hours of Saturday morning.

The North Yorkshire Police officer, named on Twitter as PC 769, then saw the woman begin to get into difficulties and went in after her, before pulling her to safety.

Despite his heroic actions, the woman involved did not thank him.

He tweeted: "Just dragged a very drunk female youth out of a large pond area.

"It's quite an experience to watch someone run, jump and sink.

"Thankfully all safe and well and I only got smelly wet feet.

"Still waiting for my thank you, but I did get some NHS socks as a reward."
