Police release e-fit image over Leeds park attack

An appeal was launched after the incident at the park at around 10.17am on Sunday, August 23, when officers were called to reports that a 29-year-old woman had been grabbed by a man while walking on a path near the old swimming pool car park.

She managed to break free and get away from the suspect.

The suspect is 6ft 4in, very dark skinned Afro-Caribbean, in his 20s, of medium build with broad shoulders, brown eyes, a flat, big nose, a big top lip and short black hair in small tight knots. He wore a dark hooded top and shiny black tracksuit bottoms

West Yorkshire Police today released an e-fit of a man they want to identify in connection with the incident.

Detective Sergeant James Entwhistle of Leeds District CID, said: “Officers have been patrolling Roundhay Park each day since the assault.

“They will be returning on Sunday 30 August, hoping to identify anyone who may have been in the park on Sunday 23 August, or who may have seen the male previously as several callers have stated they believe he has been there before.”

Detectives were keen to speak to two women walking Dalmatian dogs may have seen the victim before the attack but say they have now identified them.
