Police searching River Ouse in York for missing woman in her 20s who fell from bridge

North Yorkshire Police are searching the River Ouse in York today for a missing woman who entered the water 24 hours ago.

The woman, in her early 20s, fell from Lendal Bridge just after 12pm on Friday.

A specialist underwater search unit has now been called in to look for her. The woman is from York.

Detailed riverbank searches are also being carried out by specialist officers from the Operational Support Unit.

This work is expected to continue over the weekend and into Monday.

Her family are being supported.
