The victim ran after her assailant, but he went out of sight at the junction of St Albans Road.

DC Eileen Walsh of Calderdale CID said: “This crime of opportunity targeted a vulnerable member of the community in broad daylight. The victim of this robbery was incredibly brave in trying to follow the assailant as he made off. I am sure that someone will have seen something around the time of the incident and would urge anyone with information to come forward. Enquiries are ongoing.”

The suspect is described as 6ft tall and slim.

Anyone who was in the area around 10am on Wednesday who saw someone acting suspiciously or who saw a man running from the alleyway either on the Dryclough Lane side or Godfrey Road side is asked to contact DC Eileen Walsh at Calderdale CID via 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
