Scar Hole Lane, Holmfirth: Man seriously injured after car falls down 100ft ravine on Yorkshire moorland road

A man has been seriously injured after his car fell down a 100ft ravine on a moorland road.

The collision took place at 2.45pm on Tuesday on Scar Hole Lane near Holmfirth.

No other vehicles were involved and only the driver was inside the car. He has been taken to hospital.

West Yorkshire Police confirmed that road closures are in place. The fire service were called to carry out a specialist rescue to extract the injured man from the car.
