Police are investigating the theft after the family pets were taken from the owner's garden in Doncaster last week.

CCTV footage shows a blue Transit van pulling up outside the rear of the victim's property on The Crescent in the Woodlands area of the town on Friday, December 18, while the female Sprocker spaniels were in a pen in the garden.

Detectives believe the two men in the van trespassed onto the owner's garden and stole the spaniels before fleeing the scene with them in the van.

The dogs are both females, one black and white aged three years and the other a brown-coloured puppy who is four months.

South Yorkshire Police has discovered that the blue van was using false number plates in the footage. The plate in the footage reads PY06 KVC.

Detectives are keen to hear from anyone who may have seen the van in the area last Friday or either of the two missing dogs. Anyone with information should contact South Yorkshire Police.
