Selby crash: Cyclist left with serious injuries after being involved in crash with 4x4 in Yorkshire

A cyclist has been left with serious injuries after being involved in a crash with a 4x4 in Yorkshire.

North Yorkshire Police were called to Scott Road in Selby just after 10.30am on Monday (Oct 23) following a ‘serious collision’ between the cyclist and the grey VW Tiguan. The force said the cyclist, a 22-year-old man, was taken to hospital by ambulance with head, leg and arm injuries. Although his injuries are serious, they are not thought to be life-threatening.

The driver of the 4x4, a 58-year-old man who is from the local area, was arrested and has since been released under investigation following questioning.

Scott Road remained closed between the leisure centre and Flaxley Road until 12.20pm while the emergency services worked at the scene.
