Sheep found dead in field after boy spotted kicking livestock

Two sheep have been found dead in a field in North Yorkshire after a group of teenage boys were spotted acting suspiciously, police have said.

A group of four boys, aged between 14 and 15, were seen in the field behind Barlby Hall and The Laurels in Barlby, near Selby, between 2.45pm and 3pm on Monday, October 26.

One of the boys looked to be stood near a live sheep and kicked it, before the group were disturbed by a passer by and ran off towards York Road.

Two sheep were later found dead.

The group were dressed in black tracksuits.

One was tall and slim and wearing a black cross over bag. Another was small with dark brown hair and the others were wearing black baseball caps.

Police are appealing for witnesses to get in touch.
