Supermarket targeted in early morning raid in North Ferriby

Cigarettes were stolen in an early morning raid on an East Yorkshire supermarket today.

Humberside Police say that a black pick- up truck type vehicle was driven up to the Co-op supermarket on High Street at around 2am today before five men gut out and one broke in.

The men entered the store and stole a quantity of cigarettes before leaving in the vehicle which is described as being similar to a Nissan Navara.

Police attended immediately to carry out searches and enquiries and as part of the ongoing investigation want to hear from anyone who may have seen a similar vehicle in the area prior to and after the burglary.

A spokesperson said they would also like to speak to people who may have witnessed any recent suspicious activity locally which could be connected.
