Thieves steal German Shepherd and attack another with hammers during shocking West Yorkshire break-in

A German Shepherd was stolen and another attacked during a shocking break-in at a West Yorkshire yard.

The female dog is still missing after thieves targeted David Broster's yard in Lindley Moor, Huddersfield, sometime on Sunday night.

Mr Broster is behind the Broster's Farm Shop in Haigh House Hill.

He took to Facebook to share details of the break-in - and is offering a reward for information.

The post has been shared more than 40,000 times.

His other German Shepherd was attacked with "lump hammers, fencing post and bars", but is now "doing fine", Mr Broster said.

The thieves also took horse harnesses, as well as power tools and workshop equipment.

It is thought three people were behind the crime.

Mr Broster posted an update yesterday (Thursday), saying he had been "flooded with information", but that his dog was still missing.

He wrote: "Thank you all very much for all your shares and help and concern of our dogs sadly my bitch is still missing but my other dog is doing fine.

"Sorry I can't reply personally as we are flooded with information we are still looking at.

"I will keep you updated, thank you so much.

In his original appeal, he wrote: "I need your help last night stolen from my yard, Lindley Moor, Huddersfield, HD3 3SZ.

"German shepherd bitch, 2 sets of trade harness, 1 set of black and yellow top Mark britchen harness, 1 set zilco harness and 1 set stallion harness. Loads of power tools workshop equipment.

"Also assaulted my shepherd dog with lump hammers fencing post and bars.

"I need to find three people.

"£5000.00 waiting for an outcome. Please share."
