Thornton-le-Dale: Woman found dead as man arrested on suspicion of murder in North Yorkshire village
A woman has been found dead and a man arrested on suspicion of murder in the Ryedale village of Thornton-le-Dale, near Pickering.
A cordon was put in place at the scene on Church Lane on Wednesday, January 5.
North Yorkshire Police have now confirmed that a woman was found dead at a property.
It is currently being treated as a murder investigation.
A man has been arrested.
Investigations are ongoing to establish the full circumstances surrounding this incident.
The police cordon is expected to remain at the scene for some time, police said.
