Remus, Janko and David Matloch, aged 15, 12 and 10, failed to return to their foster parents’ home after going on a tea-time bike ride.

They caught a Metro train to Newcastle and were seen leaving Central station but the police said they had now been found in the Lancashire area.

A Northumbria Police spokesman said: “All three boys have been found safe and well in the Lancashire area.

“The media and public are thanked for their assistance.”
