Three burglars arrested after tip off about stolen items from gym lockers
Three suspected burglars have been arrested after a tip off from a York gym, police said.
At around 7.15pm on Wednesday June 24, North Yorkshire Police received a call from staff at a York gym, who reported that several lockers in the male changing room had been broken into and cash stolen.
A man, believed to have arrived in an Audi A6 S Line, had been seen acting suspiciously in the changing rooms but had left before officers arrived, leaving the Audi in the carpark.
A couple of hours later, officers who were still in in the area, spotted the Audi again, travelling in convoy with a silver BMW 3 Series.

After briefly losing sight of the vehicles, officers found the Audi parked up in the Park and Ride car park.
With help from City of York CCTV operators, two males were seen leaving the Audi and heading towards Hull Road.
Officers located the BMW on the A64 and brought the vehicle to a safe stop by boxing it in.
The driver tried to escape, reversing into a police vehicle before running off across a grass bank.
However, he was quickly detained.
A 33-year-old was arrested on suspicion of burglary and dangerous driving, as well as driving without a licence or insurance.
Two more males matching the CCTV descriptions were stopped on Hull Road, one found with keys to an Audi.
A 35-year-old man and a 15-year-old boy were arrested on suspicion of burglary.
All three remain in custody while the investigation continues, police said.
