Watch: Wanted man caught hiding between house and shed in York after police drone spots him
A wanted man who jumped over garden fences and hid between a house and a shed in York was caught after a police drone spotted him from above.
North Yorkshire Police officers tracked down the man in the Acomb area of York on Monday (Nov 2), following an extensive search after he failed to attend a court hearing.
Magistrates had issued a warrant for his arrest on October 6 in connection with the theft of goods from a local Morrisons store on May 22.
Officers from the force's Tadcaster-based Neighbourhood Support Unit (NSU) spotted the man riding a bicycle at around lunchtime on Monday.

Police quickly moved to contain the area, prompting the suspect to abandon his bicycle and flee into a nearby housing estate.
The man jumped over garden fences before attempting to conceal himself in a small gap between a house and a shed at the rear of a property.
However, his hiding place was discovered when officers deployed a police drone to search the area from above.
The drone initially detected a heat source in a garden before establishing visual contact with the suspect.
The drone pilot continued monitoring the man's movements while officers on the ground closed in and arrested him.
The suspect was remanded into custody and is due to appear in court in due course.
