West Yorkshire's 'most wanted' burglary suspects arrested outside force area

Two suspected burglars described by West Yorkshire Police as among the most wanted in the county have been arrested in Scarborough and Goole.

One of the suspects, a 45-year-old Barnsley man wanted in connection with a series of distraction burglaries, was arrested in Goole yesterday.

A West Yorkshire Police spokesman said the suspect was "now in custody in West Yorkshire being question after being arrested on suspicion of burglary."

The other suspect, a 35-year-old man from Pontefract, is thought to have been responsible for a number of burglaries across West Yorkshire.

He was arrested in Scarborough in connection with a number of burglaries in Wakefield and was in custody today.

A Facebook post by a local policing team in Wakefield said the men were two of West Yorkshire Police's "most wanted".

The message said: "Both males have been returned to Wakefield and are currently being dealt with by officers."
