Woman killed after serious Apperley Bridge crash

A woman has died following a serious car crash in Apperley Bridge.

The crash happened at about 5.40am on Tuesday, June 23 on Harrogate Road.

A black Vauxhall Astra travelling away from Bradford collided with a Ford Focus, which was parked on the road close to the junction with Parkin Lane.

The driver, a woman in her thirties, was pronounced dead at the scene.

She was the sole occupant of the Astra.

Road closures remain in place while officers investigate.

Drivers have been advised to find an alternative route.

Officers are appealing for witnesses to the crash or anyone who may have seen the Astra beforehand.

The crash is being investigated by the Major Collision Enquiry Team who would like to hear from anyone who saw the movements of the Astra beforehand and anyone who may have dashcam footage which may assist the investigation.
