Yorkshire based policeman pleads guilty to making more than 8,000 indecent images of children

A policeman has pleaded guilty to making more than 8,700 indecent photographs of children.

Christopher Douglas Groom, 41, of Main Street, Claxton, Malton, appeared at Leeds Magistrates’ Court today charged with making 8,707 Category C indecent photographs of children between December 3 2014 and November 14 2021.

He was granted bail until June 14 where he is set to reappear at Leeds Magistrates' Court pending the preparation of pre-sentence reports.

Groom has been suspended by North Yorkshire Police.
