Yorkshire police officer took cans of beer from petrol station without paying

A West Yorkshire police officer is alleged to have taken cans of beer from a petrol station without paying for them.

Detective Sergeant Paul McGuinness is alleged to have taken a four can pack of Budweiser and other grocery items from the Tesco Express store in Doncaster Road, Selby, on January 20, and January 23.

On both occasions he left the store without paying, but later returned to make a payment. He was off duty at the time.

DS McGuinness will now attend a misconduct hearing for allegedly breaching the Standards of Professional Standards in relation to Discreditable Conduct.

The hearing will take place on November 16 and 17.
