Custody warning after teeanger admits rape

A 13-YEAR-OLD boy faces being locked up after he admitted raping a young boy in January.

The teenager, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, pleaded guilty to the oral rape of his six-year-old victim when he appeared before a judge at Bradford Crown Court yesterday.

The defendant denied a second allegation of rape the same boy on the same day. The offence took place in Rastrick, near Halifax, on January 13.

Prosecutor Sophie Drake said the pleas were acceptable to the Crown given the young age of the victim and the defendant himself.

Miss Tamara Pawson, for the defendant, asked for the case to be adjourned for the preparation of probation and psychological reports.

Judge Peter Benson said “this is a very serious matter and the court will be considering all sentencing options, including custody.”

The boy must now sign the sex offenders’ register.
