The Johnston Press titles are now based at No 1 Leeds on Whitehall Road.

The buyer is exploring options for future uses of the land.

Paul Fox, of Fox Lloyd Jones, speaking on behalf of the developer, said that the “more dramatic” demolition of the main building would be taking placed in the next few weeks.

He said: “While a number of smaller buildings are being removed from the back of the main building, the more dramatic demolition using large plant machinery, will not be taking place for a few more weeks as the interior of the building is still being cleared.”
