Detectives question another suspect over Sheffield fatal shooting

An eighth suspect has been arrested by police investigating the murder of a man in Sheffield.

The 32-year-old was arrested on suspicion of murder last night (Tuesday) and is currently being held in custody.

He is being questioned by detectives about the death of 23-year-old Aseel Al-Essaie, who was gunned down in the street last month.

Mr Al-Essaie was shot in his chest in broad daylight in Daniel Hill, Upperthorpe, February 18.

The waiter had just arrived for a family gathering to celebrate his twin sister's engagement when he was shot.

He was taken to hospital but could not be saved.

Police arrested a 29-year-old man arrested on Monday suspicion of murder.

A 23-year-old woman was also arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.

Both have been bailed pending further enquiries.

Five other people are also on bail in connection with the murder probe - one man arrested on suspicion of murder, three men arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit murder and a woman arrested on suspicion of assisting offenders.
