Driver crashes down M1 embankment

A MOTORIST escaped with only minor injuries after his car left a motorway carriageway in West Yorkshire and rolled down an embankment.

The man had been travelling along the M1’s northbound carriageway when the incident happened just after junction 40 to Ossett yesterday shortly before 1.30pm.

Fire crews from Ossett and Wakefield had to cut the driver from the car before he was taken to Pinderfields Hospital, in Wakefield, for treatment.
