Drivers escape serious injury in Castleford 4x4 crash

POLICE said two drivers escaped serious injury in this crash involving two 4x4 vehicles in Castleford this morning.

Fire crews were called to the incident at around 6.30am after a BMW X5 and a Subaru Forester were involved in a collision on Fyston Road in the Airedale area of Castleford.

Firefighters cut the the man who was driving the Subaru free from the wreckage and he was taken to hospital.

Fire crews from Castleford and Pontefract attended the incident

A section of Fryston Road was closed while debris is cleared from the carriageway.

West Yorkshire Police’s roads policing unit later tweeted a picture of the accident and stated: “Luckily minor injuries only.”
