Doncaster piemakers wins major internet deal

A family-run pie makers in Doncaster has landed a deal to supply the world’s largest online grocery supermarket.

Roger Topping, managing director of The Topping Pue Company, and his son, Matthew Topping, sales director.

The Topping Pie Company’s range of handcrafted pork pies are set to be stocked by the ocado.com for the first time.

It was current managing director Roger Topping’s father who set up the family firm in 1961, originally as a small butchers shop, but Mr Topping’s wife Maggie who introduced pies to the shop counter, made using her own recipes. When they proved popular, the business branched out and their pies have gone on to win industry awards.
