Green trophy winners unveiled
Regional winners of the Tye Trophy competition for conservation and environmental improvement have been announced by the Yorkshire Agricultural Society. They are:
North Yorkshire: Andrew & Helen Wrigley, Potter Brompton Farms, Potter Brompton, Scarborough. West & South Yorkshire: Russell Toothill, Ivy House Farm, Auckley, Doncaster. East Yorkshire: Charles Makin, Ivy House Farm, Breighton, Selby. Northumberland: Graham Dixon, Alwinton Farm, Harbottle, Morpeth. Co. Durham/Tyne Tees: Mrs Joy Henderson, Carrs Farm, Wolsingham, Co. Durham.
Winners will be honoured at a presentation ceremony on Wednesday, July 13 at the Great Yorkshire Show, when the overall winner will be announced. The competition organisers, FWAG, said: “The work undertaken on farms reflects the broad range of environmental priorities, from wildlife and landscape protection to natural resource protection and renewable energy.”
