In total the Calendar Girls, all from North Yorkshire, raised more than £4m for Lukeimia research in memory of Angela’s husband John who died of the disease.
Their story is set to be immortalised once again in the form of the musical, with music for the production being composed by Take That’s Gary Barlow.

“So fingers crossed.”
