Just thought we’d drop in...

Perhaps the most dramatic moment of this year’s Great Yorkshire Show came when members of the Red Devils parachuted into the main ring.

The display by the Parachute Regiment’s freefall team provoked stunned gasps from the crowd as well as raising £50,000 for the Help for Heroes charity, which provides support for wounded members of the Armed Forces.

The display was arranged by former England and British Lions flanker Neil Back, who is backing the fundraising effort. Back, who resigned as Leeds Carnegie’s head coach in May, praised the show’s organisers for allowing the jump to take place.
