Lifetime honour for CLA’s regional boss

Senior lobbyist and adviser to landowners in the North of England, Dorothy Fairburn, has been awarded a lifetime achievement award in recognition of more than 30 years’ service to the rural economy.

As the region’s director for the Country Land and Business Association (CLA), she is responsible for overseeing the organisation’s North office, which provides support and advice to 6,500 members as well as regional lobbying on a range of rural and landowning issues.

On being presented with the Dalesman Lifetime Achievement Award 2013 at a ceremony at Utopia on the Broughton Hall Estate near Skipton, Miss Fairburn said: “I am thrilled and delighted to accept this award on behalf of the CLA North team and as recognition of the CLA’s work in Yorkshire and beyond on behalf of farmers, landowners and rural businesses.”
