‘Non-stop action’ at Kilnsey Show

Organisers have promised that the show on Tuesday, August 28 will feature “non-stop action throughout the day in the main arena”.

The annual Yorkshire Dales showpiece, staged by Upper Wharfedale Agricultural Society in the shadow of Kilnsey Crag, 12 miles north of Skipton, features over 430 show classes, with a total prize fund of £16,000 and 80 trophies to be won.

The keynote livestock section itself offers £6,500 in prize money, with 124 sheep classes boosted for the first time this year by a new Charollais category.

First introduced last year, a new hard roads network on the showground proved a resounding success.

This will again make things much easier for all requiring vehicular access to the field – competitors, exhibitors, officials, the public and the 100-plus food, craft and trade stands that will be in attendance at the show.

A spokesman said: “This year’s main attraction is the UK FMX Freestyle Moto-Cross team, featuring leading professional riders in what has grown to become one of the world’s most popular extreme sports.

“There’s also an air stunt display by top aerobatic pilot Brian Lecomber and a birds of prey and falconry display by Phill Gibbons.”
