Beef on show during the judging at Countryside Live. More than 175
cattle were presented in the beef section and it takes a keen eye and
years of experience to pick out the winners in the highly competitive show arena.
David Wright, of Boston, Lincolnshire, was the man calling the shots in the cattle ring this year. Among those watching as he picked out the winning beasts across 11 classes was his grandson who may one day follow in his footsteps. Offering an insight into how the winners are chosen, Mr Wright said: “What I’m looking for in an animal is very good conformity and a quality finish.” picture: Gerard Binks.
