A seismic alert has been issued in Yorkshire by the British Geological Survey.

An offshore earthquake has been picked up in Filey North Yorkshire.

The 'seismic alert' was issued after the tremor happened at about 6pm on Thursday, offshore at about four KM north east of Filey.

The alert was issued at 11am today (Friday).

Earlier this month, fracking caused earthquakes in Lancashire which forced fracking to be suspended.
