Farmland murder charge trio remanded

THREE people from South Yorkshire were yesterday remanded in custody after being charged with murder following the discovery of a body on farmland on the border of Yorkshire and Nottinghamshire.

Police last night officially identified the dead man, who was found in Everton, near Bawtry, at the weekend, as Alan James Easton, 50, of Dunbartonshire, Scotland.

Angela Dowling, 47, and 31-year-old Stephen Schofield, of Windmill Avenue, Conisbrough, Doncaster, and Matthew Duffy, 22, of Sussex Street, Doncaster, were arrested earlier this week.

Magistrates in Mansfield committed their case to Nottingham Crown Court, and they will appear before a judge there on Monday.
