Fashion sends sheer lingerie sales soaring
A trend to wear underwear as outerwear has sparked soaring sales in sheer lingerie, said department store Selfridges.
Female shoppers are no longer hiding items such as lace bodies underneath clothing.
Following in the footsteps of celebrities including Lily Allen and Rihanna, women have been snapping up sheer bodies.
Lingerie head buyer Helen Attwood said: "Today's 'if you've got it flaunt it' generation is proving that there is nothing like a peek of expensive lingerie to make a woman feel special."
