Fire crews tackle woodland fire spreading over 200 metres near Selby

Fire crews from North Yorkshire have just left the scene of a fire that covered 200 metres of woodland.

It was first reported to North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue that there was a fire at Hambleton Hough, woodland near Selby at 5.12pm today (Friday).

Five fire engines attended with the last one having left the scene, following the fire being put out, at 8.40pm.
