Fire service help rescue one-day-old foal trapped in mud in Mirfield
This one-day-old foal had a difficult start in life when it became trapped in mud today in Mirfield.
West Yorkshire Fire Service said it had been drafted in to offer support at around 1.20pm.
A technical rescue officers went out to the scene to help get the foal out of the mud and moved to a place of safety.
A spokeswoman said the foal was then left in the care of its protective mother.
