Firefighters using drones to tackle huge Marsden Moor fire with crews from across Yorkshire on scene

Firefighters are currently trying to contain a wildfire on Marsden Moor which is spreading.

Crews were called at around 1.30pm on Monday (May 22) to the fire at Butterley Reservoir, Wessenden Road in Marsden.

The fire has now grown to measure around 1km x 1km, the fire service said.

Extra engines have joined from Odsall, Mirfield, Cleckheaton & Meltham to join the crews already in attendance from Ossett, Keighley, Todmorden, Halifax & Skelmanthorpe.

A drone is in use and the Argocat and wildfire support.
