Footballers benefit from cash boost
The Football Foundation has contributed 225,000 to Poppleton Tigers JFC so they can develop and modernise their changing rooms.
Another 150,000 has come from the FA.
The double boost will allow the Tigers, Poppleton Girls and Poppleton Ladies to build a new four changing room clubhouse, with meeting and training facilities, as well as officials' changing rooms, a kitchen and toilets.

Hide AdThe improvements should benefit more than 300 players and more than 20 teams who regularly play at the Millfield Lane grounds at Nether Poppleton.
Club secretary Val Duggan said: "Poppleton JFC are delighted to receive this grant from the Football Foundation.
"It has taken a lot of hard work over the past two years to reach this position."
York Council's football facilities project officer, Gary Limbert, said: "Poppleton Tigers JFC have put in a tremendous amount of effort in securing both Football Foundation and other match-funding.
