Gallery hosts Frost exhibition

Born in Leamington Spa, Warwickshire, Sir Terry served in the Army during the Second World War. After the war, he attended both Camberwell School of Art and the St Ives School of Art.

He was elected a Royal Academician in 1992, knighted in 1998 and died in 2003 at the age of 87. A spokesman for the Clare White Gallery said: "Frost is the biggest name artist we have exhibited since we opened three years ago. He worked as an assistant for Barbara Hepworth and taught at Leeds University so has local connections as well being one of England's most acclaimed 20th century artists."

The gallery exhibits a wide range of original paintings, prints, ceramics, textiles and jewellery. It is also the primary outlet for the work of acclaimed St Ives water colourist Clare White, who died in 1997 at the age of 94, and the gallery is named in her honour.

The Clare White Gallery is open from 11am onwards every Monday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. For details call 01226 741817
