Gardener's World presenter axed as Monty Don returns

The host is said to be disappointed that he has been dropped to make way for former presenter Monty Don to return.

Don's reappearance also means the show will change location once more – from Berryfields to the returning host's own garden in Herefordshire.

Buckland stepped in to host the show after Don suffered a minor stroke in 2008 and suddenly disappeared from the BBC2 series.

Popular Alys Fowler is also leaving the series, but another former presenter Rachel De Thame will rejoin.
