The 24-year-old, who is the current Miss West Yorkshire 2013, will be representing Miss Yorkshire Dales in the finals of Miss Galaxy England 2014.

She needed surgery on her nose after she was glassed in the face at New Year 2010 in a pub in Headingley in Leeds, and was left with a scar. She was taken to hospital by ambulance and was told her nostril had been cut in half. She had an operation and 12 stitches to repair the damage and to remove a shard of glass.

The former pupil of Prince Henry’s Grammar School in Otley, who now works for Hatch Communications as an account executive, admitted her self confidence was “really affected” after she was injured in the attack but she started to enter pageants to improve my self-esteem.

Miss Homayoonpoor will compete in the grand final in March with girls from all over the country. If she wins, the international final will be held in the USA this summer, representing England.

She said: “It’s a kind of hobby for me. I’m proud of winning another title. Pageants are not only a fun and glamorous experience in which you get to represent your region, it’s also a brilliant chance to inspire others and do charity work.

“If I do happen to win my mother won’t be too pleased if I have to go to the US as we have booked a big family holiday at the same time.”

Miss Homayoonpoor added: “I was recently offered the chance of reconstructive surgery but have turned it down. I do have a scar and my nose is slightly deformed.”
