Governors are sought for hospitals

PATIENTS and staff are being urged to put their names forward and become a member of the board which runs the Doncaster and Bassetlaw Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

Foundation trusts across the country have a board of governors which is made up of people who use health services, those who manage the services and trust employees.

Elections will be held in the autumn to fill two patient governor posts, which are open to the public, and two staff governor posts, which are open to nurses and midwives.

Anyone interested will have to be able to attend four board meetings a year and be prepared to attend training and induction courses for which expenses are paid. The trust runs both Doncaster Royal Infirmary, Bassetlaw Hospital in Worksop and Mexborough's Montagu Hospital.
