Help offered to injured soldiers

WOUNDED soldiers at a Yorkshire Army base are to benefit from £22,000 raised by local people and businesses.

County Councillor Bernard Bateman, the former chairman of North Yorkshire County Council, selected ABF The Soldiers’ Charity to benefit from fundraising during his term of office. It will be used primarily to fund activities at the Personnel Recovery Unit in Cambrai Lines at Catterick.

“We are truly indebted to Bernard Bateman for the extraordinary lengths to which he has gone to raise such a magnificent sum for ABF The Soldiers’ Charity,” said Major Barney Barnbrook, ABF regional director.
