Hemsworth quad crash victims to be laid to rest


Alexandra Binns 18, died along with her three friends Ryan Beal, Brandon Brown, both 20, and Terrie Kirby, 16, when their quad bike was hit from behind by a Nissan 350Z on the A6201 between Upton and Hemsworth at around 12.30am on Sunday, September 27.
Miss Binns’ funeral will take place at St Mary’s Church in South Elmsall on Friday, October 16 from noon.

Hide AdThere will be a white horse drawn carriage which will pass through Upton, onto Mill Lane and onto High Street before the funeral.


James Ryder, principal funeral director at Infinity Funeral Arrangements, asked the public and press to respect the privacy of the grieving family on the day and for motorists around the area to expect delays.
Miss Binns’ family have also asked people attending the service to wear an item of purple clothing.
Mr Beal’s funeral will take place on Thursday, October 15 at The Church of All Saints, Bull Lane, South Kirkby from noon.

Hide AdMr Brown’s funeral will take place at St Mary the Virgin Church, Main Street, Badsworth on Tuesday, October 20 from 10.30am.


The funeral of Miss Kirby, who was celebrating her 16th birthday just hours before the accident, will take place at Pontefract Crematorium, Wakefield Roadon Monday, October 19 from 10.30am .
Det Chf Insp Richard Holmes, of West Yorkshire Police’s homicide and major enquiry team, said: “It is vital that we speak to anyone who may be able to provide information, no matter how small. This is a tragedy for the families of those involved and a huge shock to the whole community.”
